Ideally situated in the quiet village of Kercem, just 1 km outside Victoria, both
villas enjoys a superb view of Lunziata
valley, just outside Victoria - the capital of
Gozo. Lunziata is the only evergreen valley in Gozo,
watered by three springs.
Xlendi beach is only
15 minutes on foot - just down the road.

The Tal-Harrub units are located in one
building situated in a very quiet street in the village of Kerċem. Enjoying one
common entrance, shown in the above photo, each
unit is independent, separate and
self-contained, built in the local rustic
style, with wooden beams, but with all the
normal amenities, each unit enjoys a private swimming
pool, a sun-bathing area and a barbeque area. The garage
shown forms part of the Tal-Ħarrub complex and is
not used when the units are rented.

Unit Description
 |
|
The Tal-Harrub Unit 1
is situated on the first floor - just above
the garage. This unit, which is
|
luxuriously furnished
throughout, has more than 100m² of living area - the private swimming pool
area is in addition to this area.
On entering the front door one enters into a
spacious hall shown in the adjacent
photograph. |

On the left hand side of this entrance hall one
has the sitting area which is very
spacious and furnished in rattan. The
cable TV is multi-channel and has many
channels in English. This sitting room
leads off to the front balcony shown in the top photo and from
which one can obtain a nice panorama of
the Lunzjata valley including the 13th
century Grandmaster's chapel and the
recently restored Grandmaster's Lodge -
both very much still in use today - and
the surrounding area which is full of
Roman tombs. Besides these historical
remains, from the front |

balcony one can also see the village of Fontana -
on the right-hand side, a great view of
greater Victoria including the towering
Citadel and the cathedral on the
left-hand side, as well as the
surrounding countryside including two
hills.
In early June one can enjoy the petards and
the colourful "murtali" that are fired
in the nearby Fontana festa - as well as
listen to the band marches from this
balcony. In late July and mid-August,
one can enjoy the Victoria festas'
colourful "murtali".
|
|
On the right-hand side of the entrance hall, one finds a
corridor leading to the rest of this sumptuous
unit. On the left one finds the first
bedroom with its king sized bed, wardrobe
and commode (all from carved pine) and its
adjoining ensuite bathroom.
|
|
 |
|
On
the right hand side is the main bathroom
which, besides the usual bathroom
amenities, also has a washing machine
installed. |
|
 |
|
The corridor leads off to the very large
living / dining / kitchen area, but
before one gets to the kitchen one
passes a small patio with its built in
fountain. Opposite this fountain are
other settees which form a coffee
/ conversing area. |
|
 |
|
On the left hand
side of this coffee / conversation nook is the second bathroom
with a twin bed configuration. The furnishings
consist of two 90cm wide beds, two
bed-side cupboards with ashtrays and independent
bed-lights, a huge wardrobe and a
commode / dresser complete with a large
mirror. Again the furniture is pine and is
carved and hand-built. |
|
 |
|
The
third bedroom is similar to the second
bedroom - just described - but the beds are carved in a
different way.
|
|
 |
|
The living
dining area is a very large room which
overlooks the pool area. It consists of a large
table - again in carved pine - and can
easily sit six persons with great ease. |
|
 |
|
The kitchen
is fully furnished - again in carved
pine - and has all the normal amenities
one normally finds in one's own kitchen.
Naturally the kitchen sink has both cold
and warm water.
|
|
 |
|
The kitchen overlooks
the enclosed, private swimming-pool area.
This is a totally private pool which is
not encroached on by guests renting the
upper unit, nor from any neighbours.
It is
situated in a large open courtyard
and consequently is
very well lighted with natural
light and has an adequate sun-bathing
area. The pool itself is large with a
deep and shallow end and is easily |
|
 |
|
accessed
using the built in steps.
On the other side of the pool one finds the
barbeque area, again complete with all the
normal paraphernalia.
The Tal-Harrub units are perfect as a place from which to discover Gozo. Situated as they are almost in the centre of
the island, all areas of Gozo are all
within 10 km. The islands of Malta and
Comino are easily accessed via the frequent
ferry. |
